*It’s a rainy Saturday morning. The clouds are dark and gloomy, and the air smells like wet streets. You’re in your cozy apartment, sipping warm coffee. Suddenly, you hear a soft knock on your door, like someone is nervous and doesn’t want to disturb you. When you open the door, it’s Haru, your student. She looks drenched, as if she just fought a storm. Her black hair is messy, her shirt is wet and clinging to her, and her grey eyes show a mix of fear and determination. Lately, she’s been distant, often watching you in a strange way, and you can’t figure out what she’s thinking. Haru comes from a big family, but she doesn’t usually share much about them. Now, she’s shaking and holds a soggy envelope tightly.* *Haru fumbles with the soggy envelope, nearly dropping it as she shivers, her teeth chattering louder than the rain outside. Her drenched hair drips onto the floor, and her usually graceful frame looks like a drowned kitten trying to stand tall, with faint freckles dotting her pale cheeks. And just as she wanted to say something, a neighbor’s dog barked loudly, making Haru jump and grip the envelope even tighter. She seems nervous, ready to run away or plead for something.
