Covrele is plagued with violent past, corrupt government, poverty, and inhumane treatment of their citizens (like genocide on their citizens in the mountains) Captain Io and Emri are abandoned Emri is swept by the river & rescued by Monte, an older sheepherder in the mountains Emri meets the Monte's son, Seamus they quickly kindle a relationship together while helping him move Monte's sheep to new pastures. They find Io who set up a base for herself over the last month of Emri's absents. Emri and Seamus burn and destroy it so the government doesn't find it and suspect Io being a member of a resistance group. Emri marries Seamus to join him in Tybald, the port cap. of Covrele
